The Fraser Fir

In the past 43 years I have tried almost every kind of Christmas tree there is, but the Fraser Fir is still my first choice.

The Fraser Fir by John Scheetz, Forester

Fraser Fir

The Fraser Fir is native to the mountains of North Carolina and West Virginia. It has rapidly gained in popularity over the last number of years, that today, Fraser Fir is the second most popular Christmas tree purchased to light up a home.

In my view it will become number one in less than 5 years.

The characteristics that make Fraser so popular are as follows:

  • Dark green needles that are very fragrant
  • Needles stay fresh longer than most other species
  • Trunks are almost always straight making the Fraser Fir easy to stand
  • The Fraser Fir tends to grow very symmetrical

In the past 43 years I have tried almost every kind of Christmas tree there is, but the Fraser Fir is still my first choice.
