November 4th marked the official start to the holiday season for Hensler Nursery during our annual Christmas Fest Open House. Attendance was the highest we've seen on opening day. Our guests were able to preview new Fontanini collectibles and other great gift items in our Christmas Barn. We also provided a preview of our wreaths, kissing balls and other greenery to give our visitors ideas for decorating their homes.
Remember that Santa, the horse pulled wagon rides, and all the festivities of Christmas Fest officially open the day after Thanksgiving on November 23.
Thank you for coming to Open House! We'll see you during the holidays when you pick out your tree and pick up the greenery that you ordered! Don't forget that you can pre-order any of our greenery items from now through Christmas. We'll have it ready for when you arrive.

Hensler Nursery hosted a Cardinal bus tour of 58 local residents who were interested in receiving a private tour of the nursery on November 1st. John Hensler and John Scheetz provided the group with a first look at the 24-foot Douglas Fir tree headed to the State House Capitol building in December. Visitors were taken on a tram tour which included stops at seedling and transplant growing areas, and a visit to the adjoining tree field to observe Christmas trees being shaken and baled for wholesale shipment.
Visitors were also able to view the newly-decorated Christmas Barn, wreath decorating building, and visit with resident reindeer Angel and Rudy.
WKVI Radio in Knox, Indiana sponsored the tour.

We are branching out! Hensler Nursery is bringing a sampling of Christmas Fest to the American Countryside Farmer's Market in Elkhart, Indiana. Visit us from November 22 through Christmas to purchase select greenery such as wreaths, kissing balls, grave pillows and baskets. Of course, we will also have available our premium Christmas trees: Fraser Fir, Scotch Pine and White Pine. Our booth is located at the main entrance. For the full Christmas Fest experience, pick up a brochure and follow the directions to Hensler Nursery in Hamlet, Indiana.

Preparations begin the first week of September to un-box and display Christmas items in the barn. Each year the Christmas Barn sparkles with new items freshly displayed. This year, the brick pathway at the barn has been freshened up. The entrance/exit to Christmas Fest on county road 750E now has improved visibility. With nearly 300 acres of trees, forest, nursery and farm site to roam, we want one more carload to always feel welcome!

We are always looking for ways to improve your experience at Hensler Nursery. We understand what it is like to wait in line to check out. Use your debit card with our new high-speed secure card readers to expedite your purchases at checkout time. High-speed checkout will be offered in both the Christmas Barn and the Wreath Decorating building this year.
