Many of you have been to the farm for fall days and at Christmas Fest. Now, see Hensler Nursery at its spring finest and bid your price for plants to get your spring/summer outdoor season off to a really good start.

Hensler Nursery is hosting the 3rd Annual Spring Auction, which will feature landscape-ready trees, shrubs, and flowering perennials. There are some exciting door prizes this year and lunch will be available. Like previous auctions, we will have foresters available to answer your questions and provide consultation about the items on sale.

We have ample space for parking trucks and trailers. Loading, delivery and planting are available.

New Spring 2010 Seedling and Transplant Price List

We are pleased to introduce the new catalog of our Indiana grown seedlings and transplants. The inventory of nursery stock for the spring season includes conifers such as pines, spruce, and fir, as well as deciduous trees and shrubs.

50 of one size and variety; orders of 400 or more plants of the same size and variety earns the 1000 rate. Orders over $5000.00 receive a 10% discount.

2009 Grand Champion White Pine at the Indiana State Fair

Hensler Nursery entered the annual Indiana State Fair this year with two trees, a Fraser Fir and a White Pine. The 8′ White Pine, selected by Hensler’s forester, John Scheetz, was awarded a blue ribbon (1st place) in the pine category and awarded Grand Champion. The Fraser Fir received third place.

We’re so pleased with our victory at the State Fair. We believe this competition gives deserved exposure to the Indiana Christmas Tree growers and real Christmas trees. The photo above shows our White Pine, a real beauty that we chose from our farm in Hamlet, IN.

Spring Plant Auction at Hensler Nursery

Hensler Nursery will host the 2nd Annual Northern Indiana Spring Plant Auction on Saturday, April 25th. A wide variety of plants will be featured, including landscape ready trees, shrubs and flowering perennials.

We’ll be offering door prizes and there will be foresters available on sale day for consultation. The auction will be conducted by Kaser’s Auction Service and consigners include Hensler Nursery, Inc., J&K Tree Farm and Stanger Trees, Inc.

Sale begins at 8 a.m. central time, 9 a.m. eastern time. We look forward to seeing you there!

“Hensler’s sends another beauty”

Three gallons of spray-on fire retardant. Other than that, it’s all nature’s work. And down she went, a 25-foot, 22-year old Douglas fir that will be displayed at the Indiana Statehouse rotunda.

“We feel very fortunate that we are allowed to come into the capitol bringing our fresh product. There are not a lot of associations that get to do that,” Hensler said.

“State’s tree handled with care”
